The flyer hovers above the darkest part of the palace gardens and you release the rope ladder from its edge. You climb down cautiously, unable to see the ground; it is black as pitch. You step down off the ladder and catch your breath as you find yourself waist deep in freezing water. You have climbed down into the ornamental pond. You stand still, waiting to see if you've been heard, then wade out trying not to splash and walk stealthily between cherry trees towards the torch-lights of the palace.
